One Response to “Barry Shindler, Vietnam War Army Veteran, Lehighton, 8 JUL 15”

Three PGR members from PA Region 5 were honored to support the family of Vietnam Veteran Barry Shindler today as he was laid to rest in a small country cemetery. We had a total of 4 bikes, two PGR, two family, and three cages. All services were conducted graveside. Following comments by the minister and the execution of honors by the area United Veterans Organization who provided a color guard, rifle squad, and bugler who performed TAPS live, myself, Reg. 5 SRC Gerry Pawloski and Reg. 5 RC Rod Afflerbach rendered honors to Mr. Shindler. I then presented the plaque to Barry’s family. The mission then concluded.

The family was very grateful for our presence today, small as it was. I thanked them for inviting us and that we were honored to be a part of their day. I would also like to say thank you to the UVO. I believe they were comprised of members of both VFW and American Legion posts within a two or three county area.
