Please share with veterans who are 75 years or older and who are interested in receiving the COVID-19 vaccination.
VA Pittsburgh Healthcare System (VAPHS) will host walk-in COVID-19 vaccine clinics on Saturday, Jan. 16 and Monday, Jan. 18 from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at our University Drive campus in Oakland.
To receive a vaccine on these dates, Veterans must:
be 75 years or older
be eligible for and enrolled in VA health care
receive health care at VA Pittsburgh.
If you meet all three of the above criteria, please stop by our University Drive campus during these walk-in clinics. No appointment is necessary.
If you meet all three of the above criteria but cannot make it to these walk-in clinics, please reach out to your primary care team to request an appointment to receive the vaccine.
VAPHS is providing the Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 vaccine. This vaccine requires two doses, given approximately 21 days apart.
VA worked with the CDC to develop a phased distribution plan to maximize the benefit of COVID-19 vaccines. In these first weeks, there is limited vaccine available. As vaccine supply increases and we move through the distribution plan, care teams will contact Veterans to let them know of their options. Our goal is to eventually offer a COVID-19 vaccine to all Veterans and VA health care personnel who choose to be vaccinated.
Take care and have a wonderful day!
Respectfully,
Edward A. Hajduk

Good afternoon everyone, I hope everyone is healthy and happy.
Just a reminder, we will be having our Wreaths Across America (WAA) clean up on Saturday (1/23/21) starting at 8am. Please meet at the Public Information Center and please dress accordingly. Following the weather, they are talking about a polar vortex that is supposed to hit our area the later part of January.
Please pass the word around for those who can help. We will follow the same protocol we did last year.
Volunteers will gather up the wreaths and bring them to the side of the road.
The red ribbons will then be pulled off the wreaths and placed in the garbage bags provided. The ribbons and not recyclable and they get caught up in the shredder when the wreaths get shredded. This is to ensure that the wreaths get properly recycled.
The caretakers will drive around the cemetery and the volunteers will load up the Toro’s and trailers.
The caretakers will then drive to the maintenance yard where more volunteers will throw the wreaths into the dumpsters.
Please let me know if you have any questions.
Thank you for all you help and have a wonderful day!
Ed
