Annual Veterans Day Service
National Cemetery Of The Alleghenies
Patriot Guard Riders have been invited to participate with Honor, Dignity and Respect for our veterans by Standing a Flag Line for this service.
Veterans Day originated as “Armistice Day” on Nov. 11, 1919 to commemorate the end of World War I (major hostilities formally ended at the 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month of 1918). The day became an annual observance in 1926 and Nov. 11 became a national holiday in 1938.
It is an extreme Honor for us to be able to participate with so many others on this important day. I encourage all of you . . . rain, snow, cold, whatever, to join us and participate in this ceremony. I also encourage you to bring your families . . . let us all Stand tall and show our Veterans that they are appreciated. Many of us are Veterans . . . and we all should be proud to be Standing with our Veteran Brothers and Sisters.
