The family of Army WWII Veteran William J. Finley Sr. has requested the Patriot Guard Riders stand to honor his service to our nation during his funeral and interment ceremony Thursday, December 7.  William served in the Army during World War II where he earned a Bronze Star prior to captured and tortured by the Nazis.  After enduring 7 months, he escaped the POW camp to return to his unit.  In 1945, he and his unit (42nd Infantry Division) were key in the liberation of the Dachau concentration camp in Germany.

Following the viewing, the PGR will escort William to the Holy Sepulchre Cemetery in Philadelphia for interment with full military honors.  William Finley Sr. is a patriot who served our country with honor and now it’s our turn to stand and honor him.
