The Patriot Guard Riders have been invited by the family of William “Bill” Robert Knipple U.S. Army veteran, to stand in silent honor for his service then escort for the interment.

Bill proudly served the U.S. Army from August of 1949 then was captured as a POW in the Korean Conflict for 31 months from the 20th of January 1951 and was released the 20th of August 1953, Bill walked across the Freedom Bridge and came home, boarded the U.S.S. Pope and was honorably discharged November of 1953.

Bill received the Combat Infantry Badge and the Good Conduct Medal.

Following time served, Bill became a member of the Korean War POW’S, VFW Post #3 in Altoona, Amvets, the DAV and the American Legion.

Bill served our country with Honor, its now our turn to stand in honor for him.
