The Patriot Guard Riders will stand in honor of William Izer, Merchant Marine and U.S. Army.
A proud veteran, Mr. Izer was a veteran of World War II serving with the Merchant Marines and later in the U.S. Army with service in Germany during the Korean War era. Bill was a skilled craftsman, constructing and maintaining tennis courts for over thirty years for Har-Tru Corp. in Hagerstown, MD. He was an avid hunter, enjoyed fishing and rooting for the New York Yankees. Bill was a charter member of Amvets Post #172 in Fairfield, a life member of the Waynesboro VFW, Emmitsburg American Legion, Blue Ridge Sportsman’s Club and the Adams County Fish and Game Association.
Mr. Izer’s Awards Include: Occupation Medal (Germany) and Army Good Conduct Medal.
