A WWII Veteran, SSgt. Robert Cober, 386th Bombardment Squadron 312th Bombardment Group of the Army of the United States. He was stationed at the Tachikawa Air Field, Honshu Japan, was in the service 31 months. He served as a turret and sight specialist in the states, in the Philippines and Okinawa, wears WWII Victory Medal, Four Battle Stars and Philippines Liberation Ribbon with 1 Bronze Star, American Campaign Medal and Asiatic Pacific Campaign Medal with 2 Bronze Stars, Service Stars, Good Conduct Medal and Sharp Shooter Medal. He was removed to Japan and drove a truck hauling men and supplies after the bombing of Tokyo and Okinawa.
