US Army to Stand In Silent Honor then Escort their American Hero to his final resting place.
Specialist Ronald Salhoff graduated from Albion High School in 1963. Following high school he was inducted into the US Army and was deployed to Vietnam in 1966 with the 498th Medical Company-Air Ambulance. The Motto of the Company is, “Dedicated unhesitating service to our fighting forces.” He received the Vietnam Service Medal with 3 Bronze Service Stars, The Air Medal with V/device, the Army Combat Badge, the Overseas Service Bar, Good Conduct Medal and the National Defense Service Medal. Ron lived the motto of his company the remainder of his life, dedicating his life as Past Commander of the Veterans of Foreign War Post #4965(2X) and active in their Honor Guard also participating in many Memorial Day services and others to remember the fallen. He was also a member of the Conneaut OH American Legion Post #151; the Girard American Legion Post #494; the Eagles #408 in Conneaut; the Moose Lodge #472 in Conneaut and the Albion area Sportsman’s Club.
