About the Mission:
October 1,1967 United States Air Force Airman First Class Alvin Lee Crawford enlisted right after high school into the United States Air Force. With hopes of becoming an Air Force mechanic. After his Basic Training he was sent to school for Voice Processing Specialist Course, where he learned to become a translator and radio communicator of Arabic. Crawford spent his military career on the island of Crete translating intercepted messages. During Crawfords time in the service he earned the National Defense Service Medal. United States Air Force Airman First Class Alvin Lee Crawford completed his service to his country on January 31,1972.
