Obituary of Fred G. Grampp


The Patriot Guard Riders have been asked to stand in honor of Senior Chief Fred Gramp who served in the Korean war from 1951 1955. Senior Chief Fred Grampp’s Navy accomplishments include being the Seabee Company Chief in charge of all Harrisburg, Allentown, and Reading. The Seabees completed community projects in District Township in the 1980s. Fred and the Seabees restored the District Township facility, including electricity, plumbing, heating & air conditioning, upgraded bathrooms, floors, classrooms, large roof, and painting, the District Township Facility was completely re-done. Fred’s Seabee Unit also updated and installed all the recreational equipment, including swing sets, benches seats, and grills. Fred also did community work with the Seabees for the Boy Scouts at Hawk Mountain, Reading, and Marine Corps Reserve Center Kenhurst Blvd. Senior Chief Grampp also had duty with the Seabees at Camp Lejeune with the Marines, Little Creek Norfolk, VA, Gulfport, Mississippi, Indian Town Gap National Guard Base, Lakehurst, New Jersey, Camp Shelby, and NAS Bermuda to name a few. Fred was also a Navy Recruiter in Boyertown. We will stand in silent honor of Fred’s service to his country. Senior Chief Fred Grampp is a true patriot that served our country with honor and now it is our turn to stand and honor him.
