Why I joined the Patriot Guard Riders:
Hello,
My name is Rannette (Randy) Toomey. I am a mother of two, a grandmother of three, and a great grandmother of two. I am a retired bus operator, instructor, CDL examiner with the Port Authority of Allegheny County.How and when did I even know about the Patriot Guard Riders? I attended a funeral at the Cemetery of the Alleghenies in 2011, shortly after I retired, and the Patriot Guard Riders were there. I was so impressed with these men and women standing for this fallen hero, I knew I had to join. Since then I have had the honor of becoming a Ride Captain. I stand and ride not only to honor these brave men and women before us, but to honor my father, SSgt. Harold I Siegel, WWII Veteran, as well.
This is a great organization and if you are reading this, thank you for stepping up. It is probably one of the most fulfilling things you will do.
