The Patriot Guard Riders have been invited by the family of SFC Ralph “Sarge” Alan DeLorme Retired, U.S. Army Vietnam veteran, to stand in silent honor for his service.
Ralph enlisted in the U.S. Army August of 1966, in theatre during Vietnam and was honorably discharged, with the rank of Sergeant First Class Retired August of 1988.
Decorations include, the Bronze Star Medal, the Meritorious Service Medal, the Air Medal, the Army Commendation Medal W/Valor, the Army Commendation Medal w/ 3 Oak Leaf Clusters, the Army Achievement Medal, the Good Conduct Medal (6th Award), the National Defense Service Medal, the Vietnam Service Medal w/4 Service Stars, the Vietnam Campaign Medal and the Vietnam Cross of Gallantry Medal w/ Palm Unit Citation.
Following retirement Ralph continued serving, employed by the Pittsburgh VA Hospital from 1989 until 2000 as a Human Resources Personnel Clerk and PGR member which includes, Former Assistant State Captain West from January 2007 until September 2015, Former Veteran Liaison West and continued to attend PGR Missions up until recently, answering the call for a hero died today,”Standing for those who stood for us.”
Ralph served our country and community with honor, it’s now our turn to stand in honor for him.
