Bridge Dedication in honor of, USMC Lance Corporal Joseph E. Roble, Vietnam KIA
Route 982 just before the ramp to access route 30

The Patriot Guard Riders have been invited to participate in dedication of a bridge on Route 982 to A True American Hero.
Lance Corporal Roble, without hesitation and with complete disregard for his safety rushed forward from a position of relative safety to assist two fallen Marines and was killed the following day in action. Joseph made the supreme sacrifice for his nation. On July 3, 1998 his mother, Anna Roble was presented the Bronze Star Medal and on July 8th 2015 a bill was signed by Governor Wolf to dedicate a bridge on State Route 982 over the Loyalhanna Creek in Westmoreland County as The Lance Corporal Joseph E. Roble Memorial Bridge.
