The Patriot Guard Riders have been invited by the family of Major Lance Alan Newton, U.S. Army veteran, to escort then stand in silent honor for his service and interment.

While still in college, Lance joined the ROTC. In 1993, Lance attended OCS in Fort Benning, GA, beginning a 27-year career serving in the 28th Infantry Division of the Pennsylvania National Guard and US Army. Lance’s military service took him many places, including Kosovo, Louisiana during Hurricane Katrina relief efforts, Korea, Germany, and Afghanistan.

Lance received the Meritorious Service Medal, the Army Commendation Medal, the Army Achievement Medal, the Army Reserve Component Achievement Medal (4th Award), the National Defense Service Medal W/ the Bronze Service Star (2nd Award), the Kosovo Campaign Medal W/ Bronze Service Star, the Afghanistan Campaign Medal W/ Campaign Star, the Global War On Terror Service Medal, the Humanitarian Service Medal, the Armed Forces Reserve Medal W/ M Device & 20 Year Silver, the Army Service Ribbon, the Overseas Service Ribbon, the Army Reserve Components Overseas Training Ribbon and the NATO Medal.

Lance was honorably discharged, retiring with the rank of Major May of 2016.

Lance enjoyed his time in the military and was so proud of his son, Garrett, who is currently serving, following in his Father’s foot steps.

Lance served our country and the community with honor, it’s now our turn to honor him.

Calling hours from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM, with service and interment following at 2:00 PM.

Members can attend all of a mission or any part of the mission. PGR sets no time for a member to escort and or stand a mission. We Thank you for whatever time you give us and the families of our heroes appreciate your time.

Before heading out please watch the weather, dress accordingly, bring your 3×5 American hand held American flags and have your masks available. Also, once on the road, be aware and alert of your surroundings.
