The Patriot Guard Riders have been invited by the family of John J Pitonyak US Army to Escort then Stand In Silent Honor for his Internment with Military Honors.
John enlisted in April 1943 in the US Army and went ashore on Utah Beach, Sugar Red Sector, near St. Mere Eglis on D- Day. John served through October 1945, most of that time in Europe. John was proud to have served in General Patton’s Third Army, the Fifth Infantry Division or “Red Diamonds”, as a telephone operator and field lineman. John fought in France and Luxembourg from July 1944 through January 1945, when he was wounded in the Battle of the Bulge, for which he received a Purple Heart. John was also awarded the European African Middle Eastern Campaign Ribbon with 5 Bronze Battle Stars and the Good Conduct Medal.
Later, John became a member of American Legion Carl Neff Post #571. John served our country and his community with Honor, now it’s our turn to Honor him.
We will have two 3 Stops that will be listed below in the Mission post. Times are subject to change, so please refer back prior to KSU and or contact your RC in charge.
