About the Mission:
On December 31, 2024, American Legion Post 474, Zelienople, Pennsylvania lost their Past Post Commander, Honor Guard Member, American Legion Rider, brother, and friend Bill “Chewy” Throckmorton. Throckmorton served in the United States Marine Corps, 1965 to 1969 serving three tours of duty in Vietnam. In 1977 Throckmorton served in the United States Air Force Reserve till his retirement in 1996. Bill “Chewy” Throckmorton continued to serve his brother veterans actively as a Patriot Guard Rider, Rolling Thunder in Washington D.C. participated in A.B.A.T.E. On Monday, April 14, 2025 the Zelienople American Legion Riders Post 474 with beloved wife Denise of 34 years will be escorting US Marine Corps / US Air Force Reserve Bill “Chewy” Throckmorton, Vietnam Veteran remains to his final resting place at National Cemetery of the Alleghenies in Bridgeville, Pennsylvania
