The Patriot Guard Riders have been asked to escort and stand a Flag Line honoring the service of US Army/RA First Sergeant David LeRoy Lesser, Desert Shield and Desert Storm Veteran Retired. Enlisting in the US Army in 1974 he was decorated and served proudly all over the world in his 23 and half years of military service. During 1SG Lesser’s service to his country he earned the following: Army Achievement Medal (5th Award), Bronze Star Medal, Meritorious Service Medal (4th Award), Army Commendation Medal (5th Award), Joint Service Achievement Medal, Presidential Unit Citation (Army-Air Force), Joint Meritorious Unit Award, Army Good Conduct Medal (7th Award), National Defense Service Medal (2nd Award), Southwest Asia Service Medal, Service in Southwest Asia, 2 Bronze Service Stars, Humanitarian Service Medal, Noncommissioned Officer’s Professional Development Ribbon with numeral 3, Army Service Ribbon / OverSeas Service Ribbon (2nd Award), Saudi Kuwait Liberation Medal, Kuwait Liberation Medal-Government of Kuwait, Master Parachutist Badge, PathFinder Badge, Driver & Mechanic Badge, Canadian Parachutist Badge, Expert Marksmanship, Jumpmaster, and Master jump Instructor. Lesser continued to serve his community after his service to his country. H.O.G. member in Clarksville Tennessee, and Erie Pennsylvania, an active patron of the Kiwanis in Waterford, Pennsylvania. Lesser’s dedication to his country and community are being carried on by his son Zachary “Ziz” Lesser who himself is currently active duty in addition to being a member of the CVMA 7-1 and a member of PGR in Arkansas. U.S. Army First Sergeant David LeRoy Lesser stood for us, now it is our time to stand and honor his service to our country and our communities.
