The Patriot Guard Riders have been invited by the family of Carl Paul “Ed” Launer, a U.S. Army veteran, to stand in silent honor for his service then escort to the cemetery for the interment.

Carl proudly served the U.S. Army during the Vietnam era from June of 1963. Then transferred to the U.S. Army Reserves May of 1965, with last duty assignment 1st Battalion 54th Infantry as a Teletype Operator until he honorably discharged May of 1969, with the rank of Specialist 4.

Following time served, Carl became a life member of the American Legion Post #474 in Zelienople, serving as Sergeant at Arms and acting with the Legion Honor Guard and Carl also belonged to VFW Post #499 of Evans City.

Carl served our country and his community with honor, now it’s our turn to stand in honor for him.

Members can attend all of a mission or any part of the mission. PGR sets no time for a member to stand a mission. We Thank you for whatever time you give us and the families of our heroes appreciate your time.

Before heading out please watch the weather, dress accordingly and bring your 3 x 5 handheld American flags.
