With the help of the County Veterans Service Organizations, Veteran Affairs Officer and private contributions, they wish To Recognize, To Honor and To Thank our Veterans both past and present, for their Service to our country.
“They Shall Not Be Forgotten”
The guest speaker will be, prior county resident and former Chief of Staff of the U. S. Air Force, General Ronald R. Fogleman Retired, the Master of Ceremonies,Chuck Rhodes U.S. Navy, Bagpipers from Quittpahilla Highlanders, TAPS by Dr. Nancy M Landreville U.S. Army and a BIG Announcement, dedicating a new addition to the Fair Grounds. Hanging on 39 utility poles, will be a banner that will be either a photo, a likeness or a representation of our Fallen Heroes, covering WWI, WWII, Korea and Vietnam.
Also, at the conclusion, ALL Veterans present, who served in uniform from 19 November 1955 through 15 May 1975, regardless of location or assignment, are eligible to receive a Vietnam War Commemoration Pin. Parents, spouse, siblings and children of Vietnam Veterans whose names are inscribed on the Vietnam Memorial Wall, are entitled to receive a Certificate of Honor and a Gold Star Commemoration Pin. Also, spouses of ALL Vietnam War Era Veterans who died after their Service, are entitled to receive a Certificate of Honor and a Blue Star Commemoration Pin. This is in Accordance With Public Law 110-181 SEC.598; the 2008 National Defense Authorization Act.
