Pennsylvania Portion
A memorial dedicated to the 5th Marine Regiment will make a cross country journey from Barre, VT to Camp Pendleton, CA. The memorial honors the 2,706 Marines and Sailors of the “Fighting Fifth” who lost their lives in Vietnam. The components of the memorial will be transported on three flatbed tractor trailers, weighing in at over 100,000 pounds.

The Patriot Guard Riders are honored to have been asked to escort this memorial across the country, through 12 states, a distance of approximately 3,279 miles. The convoy will depart VT the morning of the 22nd and arrive at Hallstead, PA at approx 14:30 escorted by NY PGR. They will transfer to PA PGR and then travel down PA I-81 south with our destination being the T/A truck stop in Greencastle, PA. Please join us for as much or as little of the escort as you can make. Cages welcome. Given the nature of the escort times are estimated. Each region will call ahead with updated times to the next group who will do a rolling transfer.
