Cpl Daniel “Rip” Francis Kelly
The Patriot Guard Riders have been invited by the family of Corporal Daniel “Rip” Francis Kelly POW/MIA US Army to Escort then Stand In Silent Honor for their American Hero for his Interment.
At 17, Cpl. Daniel Kelly one of 8 brothers who enlisted asked his parents to vouch so he could serve to protect our country as did his brothers.
November 1950, Cpl. Kelly was a member of C Company, 1st Battalion, 9th Infantry Regiment, 2nd Infantry Division, his unit was ordered to advance as part of preparations for an offensive to push the North Koreans to the Yalu River. After the battle, it was determined that Kelly became Missing in Action on Nov. 26, 1950.
In 2002, a joint U.S. and Korean People’s Army Recovery team conducted operations in North Korea, recovering his remains and confirmed DNA.
There will be two Staging Locations, across the street from Funeral home in a vacant lot and the other at the Cemetery.
