About the Mission:

United States Army World War II Veteran Charles E. Rudler served with the 83rd Infantry Division. They fought their way across France and Rudler was wounded in the summer of 1944. After fighting through the Hurtgen Forest in western Germany, Rudler was captured and held as a P.O.W. by the German Army for nearly 6 months. US Army Charles “Chuck” E. Rudler was liberated by the Soviets in late April of 1945 and was later discharged in 1945 after the war.
