About the Mission:
US Army Veteran Charles Kizina, enlisted in 1943 served with the Battery B, 135th AAA Gun Battalion. Kizina was deployed for one year and 7 months overseas. During Kizina's time serving our country he earned the following awards, American Campaign Medal, European Campaign Medal, World War II Victory Medal, Good Conduct Medal and the French Legion of Honor Award. He attained the rank of Technical Sergeant. Kizina was Honorably discharged in 1946.
He was at the Dachau concentration Camp the day after the liberation of said camp in 1945, spending 5 months there taking refugees, German POW's and taking care of deceased people of the camp. He was earlier involved in the "Ghost Army".
