The Patriot Guard Riders of Pennsylvania have been invited by the family of Carl Matteson, a U.S. Air Force veteran, to stand in silent honor for his service then escort for the interment at the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies.
Carl enlisted in the U.S. Air Force May of 1973, having served during the Vietnam era until September of 1985 then transferred to the Reserves during the Desert Storm Era before he was honorably discharged with the rank of Staff Sergeant.
Decorations include the Air Force Commendation Medal w/ 3 Oak Leaf Clusters, Air Force Outstanding Unit Award w/ 1 Oak Leaf Cluster, Air Force Good Conduct Medal w/ 2 Oak Leaf Clusters,National Defense Service Medal and the Air Force Longevity Service Award.
Carl served our country with honor, it’s now our turn to stand in honor for him.

Members can attend all of a mission or any part of the mission. PGR sets no time for a member to escort and or stand a mission. We Thank you for whatever time you give us and the families of our heroes appreciate your time.
Remember that the National Cemetery is a Federal Reservation and NO WEAPONS are permitted. In addition, masks are not required outside on NCOTA grounds but masks are required, vaccinated or not if indoors.
Also, before heading out please watch the weather, dress accordingly, bring your 3 X 5 handheld American flags and grab your masks.
