SFC Ralph “Sarge” Alan DeLorme Retired

The Patriot Guard Riders have been invited back by the family of SFC Ralph “Sarge” Alan DeLorme Retired, a U.S. Army Vietnam veteran, to escort then stand in silent honor for his interment at the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies.
Ralph enlisted in the U.S. Army August of 1966, having served in theatre during Vietnam and was honorably discharged with the rank of Sergeant First Class Retired August of 1988.
Decorations include, the Bronze Star Medal, the Meritorious Service Medal, the Air Medal, the Army Commendation Medal W/Valor Device, the Army Commendation Medal W/ 3 Oak Leaf Clusters, the Army Achievement Medal, the Good Conduct Medal (6th Award), the National Defense Service Medal, the Vietnam Service Medal W/4 Service Stars, the Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal and the Republic of Vietnam Cross of Gallantry W/ Palm Unit Citation.
Following retirement Ralph continued serving, employed by the Pittsburgh VA Hospital from 1989 until 2000 as a Human Resources Personnel Clerk and PGR member which includes, Former Assistant State Captain West from January 2007 until September 2015, Former Veteran Liaison West and continued to attend PGR Missions up until recently, answering the call for a hero died today, “Standing for those who stood for us.
Ralph served our country and community with honor, it’s now our turn to stand in honor for him.

Members can attend all of a mission or any part of the mission. PGR sets no time for a member to escort and or stand a mission. We Thank you for whatever time you give us and the families of our heroes appreciate your time.
Remember that the National Cemetery is a Federal Reservation and NO WEAPONS are permitted. Also, masks are no longer required for those fully vaccinated. If not fully vaccinated you are required to wear a mask while social distancing, during the service, interment and if indoors.
Also, before heading out please watch the weather, dress accordingly, bring your 3 X 5 handheld American flags.
