The Patriot Guard Riders have been asked to honor SPC Cody M. Decker, with an escort to his final rest at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery. We have been asked to escort Cody to his final rest where we will stand to honor his service to our nation.
Cody served in the U.S. Army in the 198th Infantry Brigade as a SPC in the War on Terror Afghanistan. During his deployment he served as a Team Leader and led a group of soldiers through combat. He was honorably/medically discharged in 2015 and received the 5 NATO medal for service and was recognized for serving under the 319th Military Intelligence Battalion. His awards include the Afghanistan Campaign Medal w/ Campaign Star, National Defense Service Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Army Service ribbon, NATO Medal, Driver and Mechanic badge.
Due to the restrictions in place we will not be allowed to stand a flag line at his committal. However, we have been granted permission to line the roadway by our staging area and show honors as the funeral procession passes by.
SPC Cody M. Decker is a true American Patriot that has served this nation with honor. Now it’s our turn to honor him
