All –
The Coronavirus continues to impact more communities around the country and the world. Public health officials are warning the public, especially those that are sick or vulnerable based on age and/or a pre-existing health condition, to practice social distancing and avoid large group activities. To that end Cemetery Operations is providing guidance for immediate postponement regarding public gatherings and ceremonies at the National Cemetery (now through April 15, 2020).
Therefore, due to the guidance I received, the Vietnam Commemoration Ceremony will be postponed indefinitely. VA’s National Veterans Outreach Office will provide further guidance on rescheduling once the COVID19 situation is over.
This will not affect interment services and we will continue to schedule military honors to our veterans.
Please get the word out to all your brothers and sisters to let them know of the postponement of the Vietnam Veteran Recognition Ceremony
Please accept my sincere apologies for the postponement. As soon as I know more, I will pass it on to you all.
Please let me know if you have any questions.
Take care, God Bless you all and stay safe!
Ed
Respectfully,
Edward A. Hajduk
Director
National Cemetery of the Alleghenies
