Patriot Guard Riders of Pennsylvania have been asked by the Funeral Director on behalf of the family to stand a Flag Line and escort to the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies to honor the service of US Army Sergeant Daniel B. Douglass. Sergeant Douglass served his country honorably from 1949 to 1953 during his service in Korea. On October 14, 1951, US Army Sergeant Daniel B. Douglass was wounded in North Korea earning him a Purple Heart. Additional citations and medals received during his time of service were the Korean Service Medal, Army Occupation Medal (Japan), United Nations Service Medal.

Veterans Affairs regulations 38 CFR 1.218 prohibits the carrying of firearms (either openly or concealed), explosives or other dangerous or deadly weapons while on Veteran Affairs property, except for official purposes, such as military funeral honors.
